  • We require 48 hours notice for all colour appointments and 24 hours for all other appointments. You may be charged up to 100% of the value for the full appointment for any last minute cancellations or no-shows.

If we are unable to fill the appointment time, we reserve the right to charge for lost time and earnings, up to 100% of the services booked.

We understand that things can happen unexpectedly and will always do our best to try and resolve the issues before charging the client.

  • TIME is money. Working independently I do not have the option to offer free services. If a client is very particular about what they want and or need it comes at a cost to the business. For decades businesses have had to swallow the cost of people not being sure of what they want. Offering free services is the difference of a business staying profitable or closing down. I do not have a large team to absorb those costs. You may book a 15 min paid cutting consultation if your unsure if you want to proceed with future services.

  • Well it’s simple,

I’m a time based salon, new clients require more time. We have a lot to go over as, BSH TORONTO works differently than your average salon. BSH TORONTO is a boutique atelier environment so everything we do is custom. For more information see the new clients page.

  • New clients to BSH or existing clients who have never had colour done before are required to book a colour consultation before booking any services. This is necessary because we need to physically see your hair before guaranteeing any services.

We assess your hair health, type, and all hair history. Your stylist may do a strand test on your hair during the consultation, to see how it reacts to lightener. After this, we will assist you in booking the correct colour services so you are aware of the timing and approximate cost of the appointment.

We also want you to get a feel for our space and our stylists, to ensure a good fit!

  • We know this is a difficult subject for people to discuss, so we have tried to lay it out here in a clear and concise way.

The reality is: you booked the appointment.

Just like a hotel, plane ticket, dentist, or fitness class - if you don’t show up, you still paid for the ticket, the hotel room, the class or the doctor. A no-show or cancellation fee is never questioned when dealing with other professions, so we kindly ask that you treat us with the same respect as you would with any other professional or business.

To prevent any unfair charges we send a handful of emails, texts, and reminders to confirm your appointment. We also include the “warning” button that informs you we may charge 100% of the appointment if you do not show up.

That spot was held for you, and not available to another client. This results in a loss of revenue for our team members and our business. We understand that things happen, and will always try to speak with our client to better understand the no-show or cancellation.

We value our clients greatly, so we expect the same respect in return.

Please show up for your appointment. If you are unable to show up, please call or email to let us know so we can prevent these charges.

  • If you are running late for your appointment, please contact us at your earliest moment, so we can communicate with your stylist that you will be late.

If you are more than 15 minutes late, your services may be changed or rescheduled to ensure the proper amount of time.

We greatly appreciate a call ahead of time, and will do our best to accommodate to our clients.

  • All appointments must be made through our online booking platform. You can use our website to book through our link on our Google listing or the link on Instagram.

We do not accept appointment bookings over the phone. Please understand that we require you to make a booking profile so we have your correct information, including preferred names, pronouns, and proper contact information. Booking information must match payment information.

  • We guarantee our services for cutting and colouring. It’s important our clients are using professional hair care from our salon, to guarantee colour services. We do not know how other products may affect the colour or condition of your hair.
Should you choose to use other brands (from outside of the salon), our services are not guaranteed.

We stand behind the products, Davines and World Hair & Skin, that are used at BSH. They have all been formulated to respect the condition and integrity of hair/scalp/skin.

  • If you book a haircut (any length), you’ll enjoy a full wash, cut, blowdry and style.

Please note: Our express services (like a Fade Only) do not come with a wash.

  • A full blow-dry is not automatically included with colour only services.

We have 2 finishing services available to book with colour appointments, a Simple Finish or a Blow Out after Colour.

A simple finish is a rough dry of the hair, to see the colour, but it does not include a full dry and style or brush work. This is an ideal option for clients who are in a rush or want to style their own hair at home. A simple finish is no additional charge.

A blow out after colour is a full blow dry and style after the service. It is an additional $45.00. ( this must be booked separately) Extra time and cost may be required for longer or thicker hair on colour only services.

You do not need to book a finishing service if you are getting a haircut.

Please note: Even if you are wanting a simple finish, we require you to book it as an add-on to your service to accommodate for timing.

  • NO WE DONT.

We require our clients to book online and create a profile to book appointments.
We do not have space for walk-in appointments, as our stylists get booked out in advance.

We will do our best to accommodate our clients for last minute/emergency bookings, but we strongly recommend booking online about 2 weeks before you'd like to come in.

  • We recommend wearing lighter clothing, like a t-shirt or light long-sleeve. Please avoid wearing anything bulky, with a hood, or with a turtleneck.

Although very unlikely, we cannot guarantee that colour won’t stain your clothing.

  • Unfortunately we do not provide parking for our clients. You can download the GreenP app and park on the street. There is also a parking lot across the street from our salon.

BSH Toronto is not responsible for parking or tickets.
Make sure you give yourself enough time on the meter.

  • We are centrally located in Toronto’s vibrant 2SLGBTQIA+ community, The Church and Wellesley Village. We are located on the east side of Church, just south of Maitland on the second floor (437A Church St). Our entrance is located next to the UPS store. We are very close to the Wellesley TTC station and College TTC station.

Please note: We are located on the 2nd floor of our building. We have 2 sets of stairs in the salon. If you require any accommodations (ie. help getting up the stairs or help carrying items up the stairs) please call to let us know. Unfortunately due to the age & history of our building, we are unable to make our salon fully accessible. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.
